Promotion of early career researchers

Each year the SSP executive committee awards several travel grants and poster awards to its student members, mainly thanks to the financial support of SCNAT (Swiss Academy of Sciences). Our goal is to encourage early career researchers to present their work at the SSP meeting in autumn (posters) as well as at international scientific meetings (travel grants).

Poster awards (at the yearly SSP scientific meeting in autumn)
- the three best posters are awarded SFR 200
- the awardee must fulfil the following conditions:

- be individual member of the SSP
- be trainee, Bsc, Msc or Ph.D. student
- be first author
- be present at the meeting
- the poster or the abstract will be published in the SSP-Info bulletin

Applications for a travel grant
- the grant has to be used for the participation at an international scientific conference
- a presentation (talk/poster) must be given
- the grant is allocated only to the awardee
- a budget of the participation costs has to be submitted
- the grant will be max. SFR 500 and only paid when confirmations of expenditures are submitted
- the awardee must fulfil the following conditions:

- be individual member of the SSP
- be Ph.D. student (according to SCNAT) and
- be enrolled at a Swiss university
- either the poster, the abstract of the talk or a report of the conference will be published in the SSP-Info bulletin

The SSP treasurer is the contact person for the accounting. The text for the SSP-Info bulletin has to be send to the editor.
